Performance Dates & Times: November 22-December 22, 2013, 8:00pm Fri and Sat, 2:00pm Sun, NO PERFORMANCES THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

Dickens’ A Christmas Carol meets Monty Python. Oh, My! In this twisted version, a stressed-out, pre-feminist Mrs. Cratchit desperately wants to leave repressive Victorian London, her husband and their 20 children. Getting drunk and jumping off London Bridge seems like a perfectly reasonable option. However, her plans are thwarted when a series of magic malfunctions by the Ghost of Christmas Past, Present and Future transports Mrs. Cratchit and Ebenezer Scrooge to the wrong time and place with hilarious, unintended consequences. Mashing up the original story with forays into Oliver!, Touched by an Angel, Gift of the Magi and It’s a Wonderful Life, this playful, cracked look at A Christmas Carol, will have your head spinning without drinking a drop of Fezziwig’s legendary Christmas punch.

It’s wacky. It’s fun. And there will be SINGING!

Young Frankenstein

yf-logo-for-patio-website_0
Book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan
Music and Lyrics by Mel Brooks

Directed by Richard Brousil & Mary Bright
Produced by Brenda Townsend

To say we’re proud to have the Southern California premiere of Young Frankenstein would be an understatement. We are ecstatic!

Bells toll in Transylvania Heights on a gloomy and drizzly afternoon at the funeral procession of Viktor von Frankenstein, maker of monsters. And thus begins Mel Brooks inspired vision of lunacy that pokes hilarious fun at just about every Frankenstein movie ever made. Summoned by his grandfather’s bequest, Frederick arrives at the castle and discovers his true calling – amid a blizzard of gags, jokes, quips, puns, howlers, growlers, big knockers, an enormous schwanzstucker. It’s a continuous assault on good taste. All the classic characters from the movie are here:  gullible Transylvanian villagers; the misshapen Igor, the “accommodating” assistant Inga; Frau Blücher, the torch-bearing, horse-startling housekeeper; and Elizabeth, the virgin/nymphomaniac fiancé. Your favorite songs are here, too: “He Vas My Boyfriend,” “Transylvania Mania,” and of course, “Puttin’ On the Ritz.”
