Looking Back

From Ruth Lepper’s review in the North County Times:

Harless leads strong cast in Patio's 'Hedda Gabler'

Kelli Harless more than does the character justice… Director Richard Gant has assembled a strong cast to bring Ibsen's characters to life… Harless displays the right amount of snarkiness for her strong portrayal of the domineering woman… Kenn Burnett, as her husband, is right at home in this role. He makes George an easygoing newlywed who takes his frustrations in stride…Caro Louise Aristei, as George's spinster aunt, is another natural. She makes acting look easy…. Courtney Potter belies her youth (a high school junior) in a very mature undertaking as Thea Elvsted…Chris DeArmond comes across well as Lovborg, giving his character a persona worthy of Ibsen's creative talent…Costumes by Ann Savage
deserve a standing ovation.

Youtheatre Success!!

Patio Playhouse Youtheatre recently closed a very successful run of the Gilbert and Sullivan classic "The Pirates of Penzance". The show sold out all but one of its nine performances. It even sold out on Super Bowl Sunday! "These kids worked super hard on this show. This is more than we have ever asked of them, and they delivered!" according to director Brian Weissman. "The best thing about this show is how much the kids grew, both in ability and in friendship. This show epitomized the community spirit of Patio."
