Currently, I'm "Just a housewife"

Prior to becoming wife and mother I was a counselor for mentally ill adolescent patients at a psychiatric hospital. I did individual group and family counseling. My first job fresh out of college was working at a place called State Training School For Boys ,in other words "Prison for Juvenile offenders" We housed everything from gang bangers to car thieves to rapists.

A defining moment was when immediately after showering a 250 pound gangster came within 2 feet of me and dropped his towel, the only thing he was wearing ,and stood and looked me straight in the eye. I responded by looking down right at his "Johnson" then looked him in the eye and said "If that's all you got, then why even bother with the towel?" I instantly gained the respect of all 31 offenders in my unit. Thank You Lord!

The most valuable lesson I learned in working with troubled youth is that people are not always what you see on the surface. You have to look deeper. Those that appear to be the toughest are typically the most vulnerable-wounded, hurting... Not unlike my character "The Prostitute."

The song that moves me most is probably Fathers and Sons. As a parent, I realize how our children put us up on pedestals, expect no less than perfection from us, and how we fail them by being human just as they will disappoint us as well.

The biggest challenge in this show for me is singing and dancing at the same time. Breath control-remembering to breathe. Sounds easy? Its not. But I love a challenge.

As with any show, I have had to give up evenings with my precious sons and husband.
The best part of being in the show is working with a group of delightful individuals. One of my most pleasant theatrical experiences was working with Richard and Mary in Passing Time at the Tin Pan Tavern several years ago. I am glad they afforded me this opportunity again.

Also, special thanks to dear friend and confidant Romeo Pasquerillo for his blood and sweat that he's contributed to the show as choreographer. Not unlike the "workers" in this production, we all want to be loved, accepted, appreciated, and respected for who we are and what we do.

Hope you enjoy the show!
