is active on many area stages—at New Village Arts as Telegrin
in Uncle Vanya, at Moonlight in The Boys Next Door
as Mr. Klemper and in Born Yesterday as Senator Hedges,
at 6th @ Penn in Fertile Deception as Oscar/Nigel
and in Ad Altare Dei as Msgr. La Farve, and at Fritz
Blitz in Curious Dangerous as Man with Umbrella, in Embalming
as Lance, in Don’t You Cry for Me as Uncle Jake,
and in When Timothy Calls as Hank. Other favorite roles
include Pellinore in Camelot, Adolph in The Last
Night of Ballyhoo (at Patio), Murray in The Odd Couple,
Vandergelder in Hello Dolly, and Beverly Carlton in The
Man Who Came to Dinner. Pat is a volunteer reader for “Bookpals”
and for the KPBS Radio Reading Service. He is a member of Actors
Alliance of San Diego. |

Jim
has performed in more than 20 shows at Patio. He has appeared
locally at such other venues as the Avo, Moonlight Amphitheatre,
North Coast Rep, Pacific Coast Center for the Arts, Poway Performing
Arts Company, Scripps Ranch Theatre, and THEATRX. His favorite
roles include John in The Subject Was Roses, George in
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Father Farley
in Mass Appeal. In his other life, Jim is a professor
at National University and an attorney. |

Having
just moved from Los Angeles, Paul is pleased to be making his
San Diego debut with this production of The Weir. He
is proud of his film projects, most notably the independent film,
The Sleep of Reason, in which he played the role of Derek.
Originally from Chicago, Paul studied at The Second City and at
the Steven Ivcich professional studio, for which he credits much
of his tools for success. Paul’s favorite roles include
Orlando in As You Like It, Brick in Cat on a Hot
Tin Roof, and Jonathan in Arsenic and Old Lace.
He enjoys the journey that he is on and thanks God for all that
He has given him, especially his beautiful wife, Kelly. |

Back
at Patio after a hiatus of too many years, J.J. was last seen
at Mira Mesa as Saul in Play On! for which he was nominated
Best Supporting Actor by the Association of Community Theatres.
At Patio he has played Philly Cullen in The Playboy of the
Western World, Henry in The Vampyre, Arthur in The
Woman in Black, and Jeremy in Spider’s Web.
Currently he is working on his K-8 elementary teaching credential
at CSU San Marcos. With only two more part-time semesters to go,
he is looking forward to a change of career from the electronics
industry to the lucrative field of public education. |

Courtney

Valarie
The
Weir will mark Courtney’s first performance with Patio
Playhouse, and she is excited to be part of this production. Courtney
joins us after a long stint with Poor Players, a San Diego-based
Shakespeare group. She has been involved in local theatres for
over four years, both on stage and backstage. Working with all
aspects of production makes sure that she never has a dull moment,
and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
